Time Is The Essence "The album is a superb collection of slightly romantic electronic tracks, evoking the decadence of Victorian Britain, with luscious string work and clever melodies." - The Milk Factory "In it's luxurious folk psychedelia and behind-the-drapes decadence redolent of 19th century leisured classes, the album recalls both the crack'd genius of Syd Barrett and the utopian visions of HG Wells, the album is best described as downtempo space funk meets psychedelic electronica. Check out the backwards guitar styled tea dance of 'Flux 1912' and the Bowie-on-a-bontempi that is 'Fixing Spaceships'. 'A twisted journey into the depths of the mind that takes in space-funk and electronica making it infinitely listenable." - Forced Exposure Pretty Monster "Some albums entertain, some make you think, and some take you to another place. Pretty Monster does a little bit of all three." - Gigwise | |||||||

| BIOGRAPHY | |||||||
| Toby Jenkins and Steve Webster met in Bristol where they both lived, and decided to play together after hearing each other's music coming from respective rooms. They got their name from a 1960's book that Steve had, A Tale of Debauchery & Drugs in Fort Lauderdale, telling of life as a teenager in the Florida city. They borrow from jazz, classical, rock, lounge.. "Our approach to music in regards to mixing genres is that we've tried to create a musical environment of our own where we can put anything we want into it. In a sense a musical dream world where things that are not usually associated with each other are allowed to freely coheres, as in dream logic. As long as at the end result works musically." | |||||||
