FIELD MUSIC - FIELD MUSIC - DEBUT ALBUM - 8 AUGUST 2005

The debut album from North East's finest Field Music. Immaculately produced and tightly constructed,
it's the small details on this record that demand repeated listens. Where tracks such as opener,
'If Only The Moon Were Up' and recent single 'You Can Decide' demonstrate an economic precision
that echoes a particularly English lineage that traces from Kate Bush through XTC to The Beatles
whilst managing to remain utterly idiosyncratic - it's when Field Music stray away from the three
minute conventional that their innovative approach becomes more obvious. These songs have a habit of
crawling under your skin and staying there.

FIELD MUSIC - SHORTER SHORTER - 11 APRIL2005
...."Shorter, Shorter" glides through brief swathes of British pop grandeur like a pebble skipping over a calm, lambent lake, incorporating wobble-close harmonies, icicle keyboards, strings and jerky guitar beneath lyrics that sigh at human uncertainty, misdirected relationships, and the brevity of existence. Both super and furry... Pitchforkmedia.com Beautifully put, Pitchfork.
